Paul Van Dyk Emerges with New Single “Louder”
with Roger Shah Featuring Daphne Khoo
out Now on Ultra Music
Track to Appear on
Upcoming ‘Ultra Music Festival 2015’ Compilation
and ‘The Politics of Dancing 3’ Album Due out Spring 2015
Just in case you hadn’t caught the thread, collaborations are the name of the game for PAUL VAN DYK. Following a string of album-initiating, floor-commanding singles, the international producer in early March will flip his fourth co-op card for “LOUDER” with Roger Shaw featuring Daphne Khoo. Making its premiere yesterday via Ultra Music Festival’s social media channels (PvD is performing at the festival on Sunday, March 29), the single is available now in the US at all digital outlets and will appear on the upcoming Ultra Music Festival 2015 compilation as well as VAN DYK’s The Politics of Dancing 3 album this spring.
Having already teamed up with Ummet Ozcan, Aly & Fila and others, ”LOUDER” finds PAUL VAN DYK sharing studio time with Balearic producer, Roger Shah. Adding to the single’s already exotic equation is Australian-born/Singapore-raised/Manhattan-based singer Daphne Khoo. Collectively, the three have come up with something that’s as irrepressibly catchy and spirit-filled as it is floor intoxicating. Above & Beyond have already supported the single on their “Group Therapy” international radio show.
A PvD/Roger Shah studio team-up has been a long discussed waiting-to-happen moment for the pair. Only through the genesis of The Politics of Dancing 3 has that collaboration finally reached fruition. A departure from the more progressive ethics of recent singles “Guardian” and “Only In a Dream,” the Club Mix delivers something designed to light the upcoming festival season up brighter-than-bright. Daphne Khoo, a first season finalist on “Singapore Idol” and no stranger to the stage, is the songstress that brings “LOUDER” its head-rush ebullience.
Adding some trance shades & grades to “LOUDER”’s release, the first two remixes come courtesy of PvD’s VANDIT Records lieutenants Maarten de Jong & Ben Nicky. Netherlander de Jong hikes the furnace levels up to ‘big ‘n’ blistering’, distilling marching drums, tech-fried FX and rave riffs into his mix. A keen balance of the harmonic and the euphoric, Ben Nicky ups the “LOUDER” ante to no end, giving it loads of warp, squelch and pitch wheel fury for good measure.
