We're 14 now, ça va? It's finally spring and we're feeling lively at POP Montreal. There are lots of amazing things happening over the next few months and they will culminate with the ULTIMATE seasonal celebration: the festival returning for its 14th edition. As always, we will bring you the coolest party on earth, whether in churches, community halls, old school houses ordozens of venues across Montreal. So get ready to express your inner GENIUS.

Join us as Giorgio Moroder turns the St-Jean-Baptiste church into a psych disco palace; British industrial metal legends, Godflesh, play their first ever Montreal show; 80's punks Babes in Toyland reunite after 15 years; the one and only R&B legend Barbara Lynn will perform in Montreal for the first time with Lil Buck Sinegal as part of a Ponderosa Stomp Revue; indie rock stalwarts Built to Spill return supporting their 8th full length release, Untethered Moon; and dancehall queen Macka Diamond brings mega next level late night dance floor arousal with rappers Lady and Junglepussy.

What else?...the return of Cannibal Ox and a performance by local pop sweetheart Coeur de Pirate, who will debut at the festival her new album, set for release this fall. Constellation Record's Ought will likewise return with a new album; Arcade Fire heart throb Will Butler will play his first show in Montreal after his two recent sold out performances this spring; and the otherwordly Stars of the Lid will give us a North American exclusive double performance at our favorite venue, The Ukrainian Federation!

Carrying on with our tradition of unique events, we will host a special collaborative concert called "Pathway to Paris" to raise money and awareness on climate change for 350.org. The concert will feature Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, legendary poet Anne Waldman, local cello master Rebecca Foon of the band Saltland, and many more special guests to be announced.

But before all that happens, we are really psyched to announce that we will be joining our mates in England on May 23rd to present our first ever UK showcase! POP will head to the super-happening Liverpool Sound City, joined by some likewise super-happening Quebec based bands, thanks to the support of our friends over at the SODEC, FACTOR and the Quebec Delegation in London. We will be representing with local Master of Ceremony Socalled and the supernatural electronic duo Beat Market who just released their second single Sun Machine, off their upcoming album due out this September. We will also unleash the stage beast known as Ira Lee, who will re-emerge to perform under his new moniker, Forest in His Heart. To preview some of this new material, Forest In His Heart (Ira Lee) is launching today both a song and video entitled Here Comes The Wolves. As for Socalled, he is May's artist of the month in our POP Shots webseries, click here to stream the video for his song Fire on Hutchison Street, off The Line Of Best Fit.

So yes, there's lots of amazing stuff happening and so much more to come. Also be sure to download our app, you'll find the playlists you know and love, but also details on all our year-round events for the first time! It will be available as of May 20th, so until then, check out the rest of the hip names below, and stay tuned throughout the summer for more announces, news and teasers. #POPMTL #FORREAL guys!
