Soulwax Debut "Ti Ricordi Di Me" By Erasmus On Spin

"Writhe-worthy bass and endearing, glitter-bomb sass" -Spin

"A great Soulwax soundtrack" – The Guardian

"The whole thing couldn't be anything else than perfect"- Konbini

After recent news that Belgian electro-rock heavyweights Soulwax will release the soundtrack for the Oscar-nominated director Felix Van Groeningen's new film Belgica on February 26th (via Play It Again Sam), they have debuted yet another vibrant cut from the album "Ti Ricordi Di Me" by fictional duo Erasmus, along with a film clip on Spin. "Ti Ricordi Di Me" proves a blistering, electro-explosion, invoking an unfettered energy and Peaches-esque cache that's evident in the accompanying clip. It also demonstrates a stark contrast from previously debuted track "The Best Thing" by Charlotte, a slow-burning neo soul wonder, which highlights the musical diversity that's been poured into their work producing and writing these songs. The soundtrack as a whole is uniquely characterized by the fact that Soulwax created fictional bands to compose each track in line with the film's narrative. While they are not necessarily the musicians playing them live, their mark is undeniable and the results are varied and brilliant.

The film sees Soulwax's influence throughout from composing, arranging and recording the original score to creating each and every one of the fictional musical artists featured. A diverse collection of songs, performed by a similarly varied set of artists has seen Soulwax create what is a singular soundtrack that highlights their own evolution as musical progressionists. The film has already been screened at this year's prestigious Sundance Film Festival.

Recorded and mixed at Soulwax's new Deewee studio, the entire project has been over twelve months in the making.

As the group says: "We recorded the original music being played in the club, wrote the music, rehearsed and recorded live on set the tracks played by the bands - ranging from a live kraut techno band, White Virgins, bequiffed psychobilly trio They Live through to hardcore outfit Burning Phlegm (featuring Sepultura's Igor Cavalera) whilst chanteuse Charlotte represents the other end of the spectrum with her neo soul pop."

The past couple of years have also seen the brothers launch their innovative and hugely successful Radio Soulwax project as well as continuing to tour the world as 2manydjs.
