Sam Smith and Disclosure are back with a new collaboration.
Three years ago, the UK duo teamed up with Smith to release the house track “Latch,” which ended up becoming a breakout dance hit, climbing to Number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Omen,” the lead single off Caracel, Disclosure’s new album due out September 25, was written as a collaboration between Disclosure's Howard Lawrence and Guy Lawrence, Smith, and producer Jimmy Napes. “It was really exciting,” Howard Lawrence said of the project. “We had three whole days to hang out with Sam and write, which are two of my favorite things to do.”
“It’s very traditional way of writing songs,” said Guy Lawrence. “We could do it at home. I’ll sit in the corner making a rough beat and getting all the sounds I think we’re going to use ready. Someone will think about a theme of a subject we want to talk about. It all comes together that way-and if it doesn’t come together quickly, it usually never will.”
The “Omen” video, directed by Ryan Hope and shot in Mexico City, premiered Monday.
