With the paint all but dry on its huge Phase One lineup announcement at the end of October, ULTRA South Africa™ now confirms the full list of artists set to perform across its four-day, two-city extravaganza this coming February.

First up, and accompanying OWSLA boss Skrillex and Billboard chart topper Zedd on headline duties across both events, will be two of the biggest names in dance music and long time Ultra stalwarts, Tiësto and Afrojack!

The man behind megahits including Red Lights and Wasted, Tiësto will be making his return to ULTRA South Africa™, as he prepares to blow the roof off Cape Town’s Ostrich Farm and Johannesburg’s Nasrec Showgrounds in just over 3 months time. Fellow countryman, Afrojack, will also be returning to Africa’s biggest electronic music event, following a pair of historic performances back in February 2014 and has already rocked ULTRA crowds in Argentina, Croatia, Japan and Miami in 2015.

Watch: ULTRA South Africa 2016 Lineup

Support will come from EDM heavyweight and ‘King of the Chipotle Gang’ Carnage (fresh off the back of his debut studio album Papi Gordo), established LA based-producer Mr. Carmack, who will be making his first ever ULTRA appearance, and local heroes Goldfish and TiMO ODV. In addition, 5FM residents and local heroes, Fresh and Euphonik, will be showcasing their talents across both cities on the Main Stage.

The Johannesburg edition of ULTRA South Africa™ will feature three running stages across both days. Alongside the Main Stage, there will be a Soul Candi Live Stage on the Friday, before transforming into the RESISTANCE® Stage on the Saturday. Starting from inside a vinyl store in 2001, Soul Candi have gone on to establish themselves as the leading voice in the South African house music scene and have been responsible for breaking out a whole host of local superstars including Crazy White Boy and the aforementioned Fresh and Euphonik. With an eclectic lineup set to be announced soon for the stage, one thing that can be guaranteed is ULTRA South Africa™ will be paying homage to what has been an extraordinary 15 years at the top of house music for the Soul Candi brand. Johannesburg will also see the debut of a third stage in the form of the 5FM Live Loud Stage, which will play host to the station’s best DJs and South Africa’s best club acts throughout the two days.

Capetonians will have two stages on-site at ULTRA South Africa™ and the set-up will follow a similar program to that of Johannesburg, with the Main Stage complemented by a one-off stage hosted by Strange Loving on day one before evolving into the RESISTANCE® Stage for the final day. Strange Loving’s reputation has grown immeasurably over the last few years, having thrown some of the most exciting parties South Africa has ever seen, with the likes of David August, Soul Clap and Marek Hemmann amongst those to have come down to South Africa to perform.

With the exciting addition of both the Soul Candi Live and Strange Loving stages to ULTRA South Africa™, more artists will be announced over the coming months. For the current lineup, please click here.

ULTRA WORLDWIDE™ is the global edition of the World’s Premier Electronic Music event, ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL.

The ULTRA brand was founded in 1997 by Executive Producer, President & CEO Russell Faibisch, and began producing electronic music events in South Florida, which led to the inaugural Ultra Music Festival in 1999 on the sands of Miami Beach.

The internationally renowned festival, which has taken place every March since its inception, celebrated its seventeenth anniversary from March 27-29, 2015 by bringing over 165,000 music enthusiasts to the sold out waterfront event in the heart of the City of Miami. Ultra Music Festival returns to Bayfront Park for its eighteenth annual edition, 18-20 March 2016.

Choosing to follow a unique, creative vision and a wholly organic growth focused around a true love for music, artists and fans alike, the ULTRA and ULTRA Worldwide™ brands represent not only the world’s biggest and most successful remaining INDEPENDENT electronic music festival brand, they are now the most international of any festival brand in the world by far. The event organizers continue to transport the unrivalled experience from the Miami flagship festival to an ever-growing number of destinations and fans all over the globe.

Over the past seventeen years, literally thousands of the world’s most iconic DJs, producers and live acts have mesmerized audiences with awe-inspiring sets at ULTRA festivals in ARGENTINA, BALI, BRAZIL, CHILE, CROATIA, IBIZA, JAPAN, KOREA, SOUTH AFRICA and of course MIAMI, as well as ROAD TO ULTRA® events in BOLIVIA, CHILE, COLOMBIA, MACAU, PARAGUAY, PERU, THE PHILIPPINES, PUERTO RICO, SEOUL, SINGAPORE, TAIWAN, THAILAND, TOKYO and the USA. Each and every new global edition is founded on the same successful recipe that has been perfected over seventeen years in Miami, combining the most diverse electronic talent with the most technologically advanced, large-scale festival productions in the world.

In addition, the ULTRA brands pioneered the live stream experience, ‘ULTRA LIVE’ (whereby the festival is brought online to over 20 million unique viewers globally) and the audio broadcasting platform ‘UMF RADIO’ (syndicated to FM Radio in over 42 countries and reaching more than 22 million listeners weekly). Also UMF FILMS’ collaboration with FINAL KID has seen some of the most visually breathtaking festival aftermovies in the music space, including a feature-length documentary exploring the explosion of dance music, entitled CAN U FEEL IT, which premiered at the Ultra Music Festival, Miami 2012 and was exhibited in over 500 theaters across the Unites States.

In 2015, the ULTRA and ULTRA WORLDWIDE™ brands have continued to push the boundaries, bringing an unparalleled combination of cutting edge productions and the world’s best electronic acts back to previous strongholds and new frontiers across the globe. With its recent festival editions breaking records in JAPAN (September 2015), SOUTH AFRICA (February 2015), KOREA (June 2015), CROATIA (July 2015) and BALI (September 2015), and with the addition of the many new ROAD TO ULTRA® events all over the world, the ULTRA brand has now united NINETEEN COUNTRIES across FIVE CONTINENTS worldwide.
