On Saturday afternoon at this year's Winter NAMM Show, producer/engineer Bill Szymczyk and Joe Walsh of the Eagles will join moderator Mr. Bonzai in an exploration of the inception and creation of a great album, 1976's historic "Hotel California." Recorded at The Record Plant in LA and Criteria Studios in Miami, it was released in 1976, won two Grammy Awards and sold over 32 millions copies worldwide.

On behalf of the NAMM Foundation, Szymczyk and Walsh will induct Chris Stone and Gary Kellgren, co-founders of the Record Plant recording studios, into the TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) Hall of Fame during its 31th annual Awards show, being held Saturday evening, January 23th in Anaheim.

Bill Szymczyk, music producer and recording engineer, is best known for his work with rock and blues musicians, most notably the Eagles. Unlike many producers, Szymczyk has no background as a musician. He was originally a sonar operator for the U.S. Navy and took audio production classes as part of his Navy training. Besides his work with the Eagles, he has produced hit songs and albums for such diverse artists as B.B. King, Joe Walsh, The James Gang, and Elvin Bishop

Joe Walsh, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer, has been a member of five successful rock bands: the Eagles, James Gang, Barnstorm, The Party Boys, and Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. As a member of the Eagles, Walsh was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001. The Eagles are considered to be one of the most influential bands of all time, and they remain the best-selling American band in the history of popular music.

Mr. Bonzai, an award-winning photographer and music journalist, has written over 1,000 articles for magazines in the U.S., Europe and Asia. His photos and stories have appeared in Rolling Stone, Billboard, Mix, EQ, Pro Sound News, Keyboard, Daily Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times. He has authored seven books, including "Faces of Music" (Cengage, 2006) "Music Smarts" (Berklee Press, 2009), "John Lennon's Tooth" (BookBaby 2012) and "Studio Life" (30th anniversary eBook, BookBaby 2014).
