'Floydian Slip' Radio Show Announces 4th Annual Pink Floyd Cover Contest

SHELBURNE, VT—"Floydian Slip," a syndicated radio program devoted to British rock band Pink Floyd, has announced its 4th annual "Surrogate Bands: The Pink Floyd Cover Contest."

Musicians are invited to submit their own recordings of Pink Floyd songs. Host Craig Bailey will feature the winning entry on a special episode of "Floydian Slip" and award the winner $200 in merchandise from The Official Web Store of Pink Floyd (shop.pinkfloyd.com).

The winning entry will be broadcast on "Floydian Slip" #951, an episode titled "Surrogate Bands," which will consist entirely of other artists' recordings of Pink Floyd songs. The show will air the week of June 30 through July 6.

Contestants can enter by uploading their songs at floydianslip.com. Entry deadline is 00:00 EDT, June 28, 2014. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Complete contest rules are online.

"Floydian Slip" is currently heard on more than 55 stations in the U.S., Canada and overseas. The show joined Arbitron's #3 market, Chicago, on Dec. 21, when Bailey signed WFXF 103.9 FM in Crystal Lake, IL. The nation's 21st largest market, Baltimore, came on board shortly after with WRNR 103.1 FM, Annapolis, Md.

Bailey started building the Random Precision Radio Network in summer 2009 when he began syndicating the show from his home studio under the moniker Random Precision Media LLC.

He aired his first episode of "Floydian Slip" 20 years earlier on Ithaca College's 106-VIC in Ithaca, N.Y., when he was a student majoring in broadcasting. He also produced it for Burlington, Vt.'s short-lived WEXP 105.1 FM (Experience 105.1) in 1994, and for 13 years at WCPV 101.3 FM, Burlington.

In its 25 years, the show has earned mentions in, or served as a resource for, media around the world such as Relix; "The Rough Guide to Pink Floyd"; The Ottawa Citizen; VH-1; The Dallas Morning News; "Comfortably Numb: The Inside Story of Pink Floyd"; "Pink Floyd on Forty-Five"; and MacFormat magazine.
