Genelec has announced the 1038CF, a three-way active monitoring system featuring loudspeaker drivers, a slim speaker enclosure, dual 8-inch long-throw bass drivers, multiple power amplifiers and active, low-signal level crossovers. According to the manufacturer, this system was designed for medium-sized control rooms and is ideal for use in music recording studios, project studios, film and video post-production and broadcast monitoring.
The 1038CF performs as a free-standing monitor, as well as on-wall or flush-mounted into the control room wall. The system performs best when used in combination with a subwoofer for either stereo or multichannel applications.
The monitoring system employs Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW) Technology that is said to provide excellent stereo imaging and frequency balance even in difficult acoustic environments. The 1038CF's crossover controls allow for precise matching of the speaker system to different acoustic conditions, and its drivers are magnetically shielded as standard to minimize stray magnetic field. You can use the system in either a vertical or horizontal orientation by rotating the DCW unit.
