Vicki Genfan hailed as “The Jimi Hendrix of acoustic guitar,” and the first woman to be crowned Guitar Player’s Guitar Superstar will perform on November 22 at Broadway Studios along with three other guitar superstars and their bands.
Steve Vai, one of the guitarist celebrities who judged the Guitar Superstar Competition 2008 said of Genfan, “Wow,' I've really got to work on my guitar playing. If I could play like that,' Mr. Vai adds, 'I'd stay at home and entertain myself.'”
Also on the bill are Bay Area sensation Eric Barnett and his band Points North, a three-piece instrumental trio; Mike Orlando from Staten Island, New York who fronts his acclaimed Sonic Stomp instrumental band; and Dan Peters and his rollicking surfabilly trio, The West Side Winders. The show host is Michael Molenda, executive editor of Guitar Player magazine.
