Many international brands have already confirmed their participation at Prolight + Sound Shanghai, Asia Pacific’s best known professional audio and lighting show which will be held on 8 – 11 October at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

These international brands include Behringer, DiGiCo, Global Truss, KV2 Audio, LAX, Maquinas, NEXO, Samson, Soundcraft, TW Audio and YAMAHA.

The last edition of Prolight + Sound Shanghai attracted more than 500 leading brands and 23,869 visitors from 79 countries and regions, and show organisers Messe Frankfurt and INTEX Shanghai Co Ltd are projecting progressive growth for this year’s show.

Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd explained: “Asia’s booming entertainment industry and the show’s good reputation continue to draw more industry professionals to attend Prolight + Sound Shanghai every year. It is an important destination that connects with buyers from all over the world. For example, this year, as well as many returning international exhibitors, suppliers from Ningbo have signed up for a larger exhibition space because of the positive feedback they received during the 2013 show.”

To further enhance the show, the organisers are providing an expanded product classification for easy sourcing. The professional lighting and LED display suppliers will be located in Lighting Hall W4, overseas and domestic key brands of professional audio and media systems in Hall W5, and Hall W3 with audio exhibitors and product demonstration under volume control. Another enhancement is an expanded buyer delegation programme that includes the China Hotel Association.

The buoyant Chinese market offers many opportunities

In supporting local cultural development, the Chinese government invested RMB 4.8 billion (USD 773.2 million) in various cultural development projects during 2013, which was a 41.11 percent increase compared to 2012. In addition, China’s Cultural Expenses Index Report indicated that Chinese consumers spent RMB 1.04 trillion (USD167.5 billion) on cultural activities during 2013, and that this sector has a growth potential of up to RMB 4.7 trillion (USD 757.5 billion).

As a result of government support and market demand, the government estimates a 15 percent growth during 2014 for the cultural industry. These favourable market conditions offer tremendous opportunities for the professional audio, lighting and stage equipment sectors.
