PocketRTA HD in the big brother of thePocketRTA, a highly portable real-time spectrum sound analyzer for the iPhone and Windows Mobile. Uses of PocketRTA HD include system calibration, monitoring of noise levels and testing of audio equipment.
PocketRTA HD samples sounds using either internal or external microphones and then applies a Fourier Transform to the samples to obtain a frequency spectrum. The result is an accurate representation of the sampled sound broken down into its frequency components.
Users can capture up to three input signals and overlay them as a reference over live input. All display modes allow exporting of graphed data to CSV file or camera roll in JPEG format. These images can then by synched or transferred via FTP to a desktop PC for better analysis.
PocketRTA HD will be released on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at a price of $39.99.
The 4Pockets.com iPad range includes Aurora Sound Studio HD, a pattern-based musical sequencing app. Version 1.1 update includes MIDI export facilities to allow users to export files for use with other packages.
