Making hot records is nothing new
for Justin Smith, aka Just Blaze. This multi-platinum producer has
helped to shape mega-hits for acclaimed artists such as Jay-Z, Snoop
Dogg, Talib Kweli, Mariah Carey, Saigon and Kanye West. Fueling his
fire, Just Blaze has recently added the UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop DSP
Accelerator Card to his MacBookPro setup, and now mixes with a suite
of Powered Plug-Ins from Universal Audio wherever he goes.

³For me [the UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop] is just perfect, and the plug-ins
translate to the final mixes so accurately,² commented Blaze. ³It
allows me to just work the way that I usually work, with the
convenience of being able to do it on the go, on my computer.²

Just Blaze finds the UAD 4K Channel Strip and 4K Buss Compressor
plug-ins to be the closest emulations he¹s heard of his main mixing
console, the SSL 4000,* and he cites UAD Powered Plug-ins as the most
accurate analog emulations on the market. ³I can definitely tell that
UA really puts a lot of work into not just a faithful [visual]
representation of a unit, but especially getting the actual, real,
sonic side of the modeling into it, which we all appreciate.²

The UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop card is the newest hardware accelerator for the
award-winning UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform, now more than 30,000
users strong. Since the launch of the original UAD-1 card in 2001, the
UAD Powered Plug-Ins collection has steadily grown to include the most
sonically revered audio processors and effects units from the past 50
years ‹ including authentic, licensed emulations from Empirical Labs,
EMT, Neve, Roland, BOSS, Moog, Harrison, Fairchild, Pultec, SPL,
Teletronix, and Universal Audio¹s own legendary 1176.
