Novation's new Summit is a 16-voice, two-part multitimbral synth with dual filters, extensive front panel controls, audio input, and the same five-octave keyboard introduced on their acclaimed SL MkIII MIDI controller.
Summit is based around the digital New Oxford Oscillator, three for every one of its 16 voices. Hosted on an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip, it generates high-resolution analog waveforms as well as FM and wavetable synthesis.
Other features include a true stereo analog signal path with 12dB/octave filters, analog VCAs, three stages of distortion, a multitude of modulation sources and assignment options, numerous effects, audio input for routing external sources, and an auxiliary output.
