Pop Icon Rick Springfield to Host Benefit for Little Kids Rock during "Music in Our Schools Month"

“Music Matters,” an evening of food, drink and music, will help to raise funds for Little Kids Rock, a non-profit organization that provides free music education and instruments to Bay Area children at under-funded public elementary schools. Hosted by pop icon Rick Springfield, this event will take place at Mighty (119 Utah Street) in San Francisco, CA on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

The Little Kids Rock program brings an innovative and accelerated music curriculum to students, as well as free instruments they get to keep. By the end of the school year, kids are able to play some of their favorite pop and rock songs and even compose their own original music. This special evening will enable Little Kids Rock to bring the gift of free and fun music education programs to more Bay Area schools and allow the group to continue producing CDs and videos of these talented young artists’ work.

Corporate sponsors include NAMM, Sonor, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, J D'Addario Company, Inc., Yellow Cab Cooperative, Norcal Music Coalition, Sony Computer Entertainment, Air Products, First Republic Bank, Pro-Mark, Sabian, Modulus Guitars, Gretsch Guitars, Display & Play, and Digidesign.
