Digital Music Doctor has just released a new video training course, Digital Producer - Know It All! (Mac/Win; $39.95 for DVD or digital download version). This course offers four hours of interactive videos that cover the main aspects of creating music from digital sources such as loops, synthesizers, and samplers. According to the manufacturer, these tutorial videos will help you learn everything from making beats to creating orchestral tracks.

Sweden-based PowerFX has announced Colour Sonics' new virtual instrument piano library, Grand Colour. This library features the recorded sounds from the following acoustic pianos: the Bösendorfer 290, the Steinway D, the Baldwin Vertical, and the Yamaha C7. All of the pianos were recorded in Moscow and are available for individual download for $59 each, except for the Bösendorfer 290, which costs $89. Each download includes patches for Kontakt 1, Kontakt 2.1, and HALion.

Now available from Puremagnetik is the P-50 Linear micropack for Ableton Live 6, Native Instruments Kontakt 2, and Emagic EXS24. The new P-50 micropack recreates classic sounds from the 1980s, Roland D-50-style. It includes over 350 MB of 24-bit sound content; more than 100 modular devices for Live 6; customized KSP panels for Kontakt 2; compatibility with Ableton Simpler and Sampler; and a large selection of leads, pads, and basses. The RPG Hemiffusor W1 ($399) is a wall- and ceiling-mountable 2D scattering diffuser that helps scatter sound in a uniform manner throughout a room. The Hemiffusor W1 is now available in a lightweight, solid wood model.

This May, Sonivox will expand its LoopLine Series with three new collections (Mac/Win; $89.95 each until May 2, 2007): Brushed Beats, Chocolate Sticks Vol. 1, and Melted Hits. Each LoopLine collection features drum loops and one-shot hits in Acid/WAV, AppleLoop, AIFF, and REX2 formats. MORE.
