Beta Monkey Music has released Drum Werks X: Punk Drums ($24), a collection of over 650 fast punk loops in 16-bit WAV, 24-bit WAV, and Apple Loops formats.

Curvebender Publishing is about to release Recording the Beatles: The Studio Equipment and Techniques Used to Create Their Classic Albums by Kevin Ryan and Brian Kehew. The book ships this month as a Deluxe Edition ($100), and the first 1,000 copies are hand-numbered and signed by the authors.

MacAudioLab has released The Ultimate DP5 Learning Series (Mac OS X/Win; $79.95), an instructional QuickTime video that covers Digital Performer 5. The DVD has 14 hours of video content, info on new DP5 features, and a programming guide to MOTU MX4.

MacProVideo has released Ableton Live 101: Mastering Live (download: $35.55; DVD: $39.50). This program includes over 6 hours and 159 separate tutorial videos that cover Ableton Live 5. New purchases are eligible for a free upgrade to Ableton Live 101: Mastering Live 6, which is currently in production. MacProVideo members can also get free tutorials for Logic Pro and Final Cut by registering here.

Neyrinck has announced the SoundCode for DTS plug-in suite ($995) for Digidesign Pro Tools systems. With the suite, you can encode and decode DTS Digital Surround, 96/24, and ES audio directly within Pro Tools HD, LE, and M-Powered systems.

Propellerhead Software has announced Reason Pianos ReFill ($129). The package includes three pianos that use Reason 3.0's Combinator device: a Steinway D grand piano; a Yamaha C7 grand piano; and a Steinway K upright piano. The ReFill will be available August 15, 2006.
