You can now access Beatport's extensive catalog of dance hits with the company's newly-launched Beatport Player, an online media player that offers free streaming access to music by an assortment of popular artists, DJs, and labels. The Beatport player generator allows you to custom-build your player and then post it to your MySpace page, blog, or personal Web site.

EastWest is offering a "group buy" discount on any Pro XP upgrade to the Quantum Leap Symphonic Instruments (Silver, Gold, and Platinum) virtual instruments. From now until March 19, 2007, buyers can receive the upgrades for a maximum discount of 50 percent, provided that 100 or more purchasers join the group buy; lesser discounts will be awarded for groups of fewer buyers. Participants will also receive a free upgrade to EastWest's 64-bit Play sample engine.

Vestax's new PMC-280Pro DJ Mixer, which offers 4 channels and 16 effects with adjustable parameters, also includes a number of other features: new channel faders, Vestax's CF-PCV crossfader, 10 inputs (including 6 line, 2 phono, and 2 mic), RCA stereo outputs, XLR outputs, and digital connectivity via optional USB.
