Electronic Musician's Winter NAMM 2007 Show Report

The official version of Apogee's FireWire Audio Driver for Ensemble is now available, ending the driver's Beta test period. According to the manufacturer, the driver, which supports a single Ensemble used with any G4, G5, or Intel-based Mac (OS X v. 10.4.8 or later), features improved stability on supported Macs and resolves past problems associated with previous versions. Download the FireWire Audio Driver via Apogee's Ensemble Updater software or from Apogee's Web site.

Voices of Passion ($495) from EastWest is a new virtual instrument featuring female vocalists from Wales, Syria, India, Bulgaria, and the United States. Aimed at ethereal and new age compositions, the 8 GB collection packages more than 1,000 ethnic phrases, including Middle Eastern and Indian construction kits, and legato intervals.

Volume 12: Producers Mix ($40) is the final Korg Triton sound bank from Kid Nepro. Compatible with all Triton workstations, the collection features 128 programs and 64 combis for hip-hop, R&B, classic-rock, dance, and soundtrack productions.

Spectrasonics has released the official Universal Binary update to Stylus RMX Realtime Groove Module. Available as a free download, the v. 1.6 update is compatible with all Mac OS X Universal Binary AU, VST, and RTAS hosts, as well as all SAGE Xpanders for Stylus RMX. MORE.
