Digidesign is shipping its new Pro Tools custom keyboards for Windows-based ($105) and Mac-based ($119) Pro Tools systems. The keyboards use the same symbols and color coding as the keyboard on the ICON D-Control work surface, but retain the conventional alphanumeric labels that appear on standard computer keyboards. Pro Tools LE and M-Powered users should be aware that some key commands work with Pro Tools HD software only.
Gemini is shipping the CDT-05, a turntable that can be used to play vinyl records as well as CDs. The unit has a Mix mode that lets you play records and CDs simultaneously, and it offers three DSP effects (Filter, Zoom, and Echo). It also plays MP3 files from disc.
MXL Microphones has introduced the M3 Silicon Valve solid-state microphone, a large-diaphragm, pressure-gradient condenser microphone that is available in two versions: the M3-P ($369.95), which is voiced for female vocals, and the standard M3 ($349.95). Both versions have a 1-inch capsule with a gold sputtered, 6-micron diaphragm and ship in a cherry wood box.
Novation has announced the ReMote Zero SL, a MIDI controller that features eight trigger pads, 16 rotary controls, and eight faders. The controller uses Novation's Automap technology.
