Garritan is shipping Stradivari Solo Violin 2.0 ($199; $29 upgrade for current Stradivari customers), which integrates Native Instruments Kontakt 2 sample player. MORE.

M-Audio has released the X-Session Pro (Mac/Win; $129.95) USB MIDI controller. The X-Session Pro combines the standard controls of a two-channel DJ mixer with the transport and pitch controls of a turntable or DJ CD player, enabling you to control DJ and performance applications from a single interface. It can be used with any software that supports MIDI Learn.

PreSonus is shipping the FaderPort (Mac/Win; $229), a desktop USB DAW controller that features a touch-sensitive motorized fader and a footswitch jack. The FaderPort works with Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, Logic, and other recording software.

Rimage Corporation has released Everest III, a permanent thermal retransfer direct-to-disc printing solution that lets you create custom, high-resolution labels bonded directly to the surface of CDs and DVDs. Everest III will be sold as a standalone unit and with Rimage's disc publishing systems.
