The main element of this year’s contest remains the same as last year’s: bands and musicians register for a chance to win one of the most important and difficult things to get these days – exposure. Last year’s winning band, Copper, from Knoxville, TN, won a spot in a 30-second D’Addario TV commercial (on Fuse), an appearance on Fuse Television Network, full-page print ads, and musical accessories. This year, in addition to the valuable print and television exposure, the winner will also receive a $10,000 gear prize package that will include a ton of D’Addario, Evans, and Planet Waves accessories, Ibanez guitars, amps, and pedals, Tama drums, and Meinl cymbals.
The “Get Me Loaded” contest will function in full partnership with Purevolume, which, with more than 170,000 registered bands and musicians, is the world’s premier band site. Bands will register for the contest in March and at the beginning of April, and after a series of rounds that will include fan voting, a panel of celebrity judges, including Joe Satriani, Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall), Troy Sanders (Mastodon), Paul Hinijos (Mars Volta), Mike Watts (The Minutemen), will choose a winner with D’Addario, Fuse Television Network, and Purevolume during the summer.

The traffic on the We’re Listening site greatly increased traffic at our own websites, and we think the Get Me Loaded contest is going to generate a lot of traffic for the sites this year, as well as for Ibanez, Tama, and Meinl. We’re looking forward to a great contest that’ll be giving another band a big boost and ‘load them up!’”
