Samplebase has released its Satellite sample-synth player software in the Digidesign RTAS plug-in format. This RTAS version allows Pro Tools users access and download's loops, multisampled instruments, and one-shot samples and load them into Satellite RTAS for use in their sessions.

Two versions of Satellite are available for RTAS: the free version and the “Pro” version. The free version (called Satellite) features a simple interface for loading SoundBlocks (Samplebase sound sets) or REX or WAV/AIFF samples, as well as eight pre-programmed Quick Edit knobs for controlling parameters such as filter cutoff, resonance, amp envelope, delay effect, and reverb settings.

Satellite Pro ($149), on the other hand, offers more advanced synth parameters, effects, and a keymapping section for building custom SoundBlocks. The Keymap section features auto-mapping, batch processing, and crossfade looping. Pro users have access to three multistage (ADSTR) envelopes, ten filter types with resonance, three syncable LFOs, and more.

Both Satellite and Satellite Pro utilize have advanced lossless compression techniques to maximize sound quality, processing speed, and memory. In addition, both are 16-part multitimbral and have the same sample-based synth engine with automatic tempo detection and host sync, with tempo-, time-, and pitch-stretching.
