The mission with Spitfire Studio Orchestra was for the London company to create the ultimate "dry stage sample library", making for a versatile collection of professionally sampled instruments to use in a wide range of situations.
After filling up the front of this particular virtual stage with the strings in November, and the back with the brass in December, we now have the full house with the launch of the Woodwinds, with the usual sampled suspects – Bassoon, Oboe, Clarinet and Flute – and 143 articulations between them.
Spitfire Studio Woodwinds is available in standard and Pro versions, with the high-rent incarnation providing more articulations; Close, Ambient and Mix mics as well as an additional Decca Tree source; and four additional playable instruments: Bass Flute, Cor Anglais, Contrabass Clarinet and Contrabassoon.
