I know I’m not alone in that I’ve been feeling a little loopy this week, and something, anything, good must come of it. So how about a little positive thinking? Tony Robbins says, “where focus goes, energy flows.” And sure enough, with my focus being all looped out, huge collections of free loops practically presented themselves before me. It’s a sign! Of what, who knows? Maybe that we should all loop our way into oblivion. Well, with these links below, you’ll be downloading loopiness until you no longer know which way is up or which side is left or right.

With almost 150 sample pack titles on its roster, Function Loops has plenty of material from which to pull. So much so that it has given away two large label samplers in 2016, the second of which was just recently posted. The Function Loops Free Label Sampler 2016 Part 2 comes with more than 550 MB of royalty-free loops, samples, MIDI files and synth presets taken from collections that focus on genres such as Deep House, Techno, Trap, EDM, Psytrance, Moombahton, Future Bass, Future Bounce, Future House and well… you get the picture: future-y stuff. Function Loops’ genre-focused music and vocal packs usually cost $15-25 for packs less than 1GB, but it also bundles huge collections together for an overall discount. They also have about 10 other free sample packs available, so you’ll be perusing their goods well into, wait for it, THE FUTURE!

Output REV Free Loops (REV not required)

A unique and critically acclaimed Kontakt instrument, Output REV utilizes four sound engines and 14GB of acoustic instruments, pads, rises, swells, stutters and synths to create sounds—including 1000 presets—designed for creative reverse playpack, as well as real-time playback. As a little taste of what REV can do, Output offers a free pack of 50 loops made with REV —all available as WAV, AIFF and REX2 files, as well as a .nki Kontakt preset. The loops are organized by Percussion, Organic, Aggressive and Electronic, and as I’m sure you’ll find out, they sound really interesting, especially for ambient, highly textured and cinematic music.
