Besides the super high-end Avid Pro Tools | HDX systems, Universal Audio's UAD Powered Plug-ins platform has lead the industry for external DSP systems for many years. Whether they be hosted on UA's excellent Apollo rack and desktop Thunderbolt audio interfaces or on the UAD-2 PCIe cards and UAD-2 Satellite DSP accelerator boxes, the real-time UAD external processing systems are known as the professional external DSP options that are affordable to small project and home studios.

The professional quality of the UAD plug-in library that's available for purchase to UAD users has contributed greatly to the long-standing respect for the UAD Powered Plug-In system, so it's always interesting when UA releases a new software update to the UAD system, because new updates usually mean new plug-ins available. That's the case with today's update to UAD Software v8.4. The update includes four tempting new plug-in options for the UAD plug-in library, available exclusively for UAD hardware and Apollo interfaces.
