Submersible Music is shipping version 1.5 of its DrumCore (Mac/Win; $249) software, which offers library expansion via DrummerPacks—user-created drum kits. DrumCore includes a loop librarian for finding content, a MIDI drum module for playing individual drum sounds, ReWire and ASIO support, and the ability to export audio to DAW applications.
The software comes on three DVDs and contains the DrumCore application, as well as audio (48 kHz, 24-bit) and MIDI content by renowned drummers, including Alan White (John Lennon, Yes), Matt Sorum (Guns N'' Roses, Velvet Revolver), Sly Dunbar (Bob Marley), Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Jeff Anthony (Sheryl Crow), John Bishop (Ernie Watts), Ben Smith (Heart), Tony Braunagel (Bonnie Raitt), Ned Douglas (Dave Stewart), DJ Syze-up (Ultra Nate), and Michael Shrieve (Santana). The tracks were recorded at tempo increments of 5 to 10 bpm. DrumCore also includes 700 extra MIDI beats in addition to the MIDI content provided by each drummer.
DrumCore''s Gabrielizer technology generates variations on selected audio or MIDI content based on rules created by asking drummers what they do when they take a beat and mix it up. Gabrielized files can be saved to the DrumCore library or exported to your digital audio workstation. For more information, visit DrumCore.com.
