Universal Audio has released Cambridge EQ for Pro Tools TDM systems (Mac/Win; $495), as well as a general update to version 1.3 of all of its TDM plug-ins. The update is a free download for existing TDM customers and includes a 14-day, fully functional demo of the plug-in.
The TDM version of Cambridge features five bands of parametric or shelf EQ; lowpass and highpass filters with seventeen filter slopes (including second- through sixth-order Butterworth and elliptical filters as well as standard cut filters from 6 to 36 db/octave); and a graphical display of the EQ curve. The analog-style filters use a proprietary algorithm to avoid harshness. In addition, the controls in the parametric section emulate popular high-end analog consoles.
The Cambridge EQ for TDM is available on its own or as part of a bundle with other UA TDM plug-ins, including the Pultec EQP-1A, 1176LN/SE, and Teletronix LA-2A. Cambridge is also available in AU, VST, DX, and RTAS plug-in formats for the UAD-1 DSP card. More information is available at www.uaudio.com. To read the EM review of the UAD-1, click here.
